He was born April 30, 1931 in Germany a son of Alois and Susanna (Brixner) Gund. John married Trudy Zund on April 23, 1955 in Canada.
John was the manager of manufacturing in engineering for Chrysler Corporation. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid outdoorsman.
He is survived by his wife Trudy of Fond du Lac; a daughter Sue (Kurt) Nicholson of Fond du Lac; two sons Karl Gund of Milwaukee and Ed (Laura) Gund of Illinois; and four grandchildren John and Hannah Gund, and Kent and Kevin Nicholson. He was preceded in death by a sister Ruth.
Private memorial service will be held at Oakhaven Church in Oshkosh
