Alice Marie Kurzynske

July 19, 1928 — October 1, 2017

Alice M. Kurzynske, age 89 of Oshkosh, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 with family at her side. Alice was born to the late George and Frances Stueber on July 19, 1928 in Fond Du Lac, WI. She married James R. Kurzynske on May 14, 1949 at St. Patrick’s church in Fond Du Lac. Their marriage was blessed with 51 years and 8 children.
Alice worked at Oshkosh North High School for 13 years and she was an active member of the Ladies Elks Club.
Alice always loved being with family and friends especially spending time at their cottage, traveling across the U.S. with Jim, spending time with special friends Ruthie and Donna, going out to eat, shopping and trips with daughter Marie. She loved seeing all the new babies in the family. Alice had a zest for life and was a very kind, generous and forgiving person. She was the best mother we could ask for and was a gift to all who knew her.
Alice is survived by five daughters, Marlene (Michael) Riese, Carolyn (Greg) Maxwell, Alice (Rick) Gross, Marie Kurzynske, Marybeth (Jeff) Koshollek, and three sons, James (Debbie) Kurzynske, Leonard (Karen) Kurzynske, and Michael (Bec) Kurzynske. She is further survived by 21 grandchildren: Scott Miller, John Miller, Allison Guerra, Nick Maxwell, Amiee Maxwell, Nathan Kurzynske, Jacob Kurzynske, Anne Scheneiberg, Mike Lashua, Katie Hedges, Jess Lashua, Andrea Kurzynske, Joel Kurzynske, Anna Gross, Peter Gross, James Gross, Jesse Koshollek, Alexis Martell, Amanda Koshollek, Michael Kurzynske Jr., and Maddy Kurzynske; 14 great-grandchildren: Jordan Miller, Laiken Miller, Taylor Miller, Bodhi Guerra, Morgan Maxwell, Kirsten Maxwell, Joseph Kurzynske, Camran Kurzynske, Courtney Kurzynske, Hudson Hedges, Roman Kunes, Aria Kunes, Frank Kurzynske and Jaxton Koshollek; one great-great-grandchild: Alistir Miller.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Kurzynske and infant granddaughter, Sarah Kurzynske.
The family of Alice M. Kurzynske would like to especially thank Dr. Radford and the outstanding staff at Mercy Medical Center and the Affinity Hospice Group.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ladies Elks Club in Oshkosh or Journey Together service dog program who train dogs to serve Oshkosh Military Vets with PTSD.
