Curtis John Wolff

Curtis John Wolff, age 82 of Oshkosh passed away on Monday, December 4, 2017 surrounded by his loved ones. Curtis was born in Oshkosh on November 26, 1935 to the late Robert and Anna (Nichols) Wolff. On February 11, 1956 Curtis was united in marriage to Vernice A. Jungwirth and their marriage was blessed with seven children. He worked as a firefighter for the Oshkosh Fire Department and retired as a Captain.
Curtis was an active member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church. He was also a union member, Packer fan, and outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping on the North 40. Curtis and Vernice were snowbirds who made their way to Arizona each winter. Above all, what Curtis enjoyed most was spending time with his children. He also enjoyed being a Cub Scout den leader and doing athletic activities such as baseball, bowling, and golfing.
He is survived by his sons: Curtis L (Carole Johnson), David R, Philip R (Julie) Wolff; his daughters: Teresa Simonis, Elaine (Timothy) Schulz; his grandchildren: Benjamin (Liz) Wolff, Josh (Megan) Wirkus, Jerimiah (Elaine) Wirkus, Jacqueline (Dan) Milam, Lucas (Larissa) Wolff, Brianna (David) Topete, Payton Wolff, Riley Wolff, Elizabeth (Seth) Smith, Alexander Wolff, Abigayle Schulz, Ryan Ward, Ammanda (Mike Garza) Ward, Albert Simonis, Ashley (Jake) Gibson; his brothers: Jim (Gayle), Larry, Richard Wolff; his sisters: Janet (Bob) Chappa, Mary Wolff; his son-in-law: Mike Wirkus; sister-in-law: Delores Shilobrit.
Curtis was preceded in death by his wife, Vernice; his son: Raymond A Wolff; his daughter: Virginia A Wirkus; son-in-law: Albert D. Simonis; his brothers: Bob, and Ken Wolff; his sister: Betty Ann Schnieder.
A funeral service for Curtis will be held at 10:30AM on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church with Fr. Tom Long officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 9AM until the time of service. Burial will take place in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
