David L. Hunter

David L Hunter, age 72, passed away on Monday, July 23, 2018. He was born to the late Lillian Staerkel on October 11, 1946 in Oshkosh. David joined the Navy in November of 1966 and left the service in1968. He married Kathy Befus on October 14, 1967 and spent 44 years of marriage together until her passing in December of 2011. David worked as a corrections officer after getting out of the Navy. When David wasn’t working, he enjoyed fishing, boating, Leon’s turtle sundaes and hanging out with his loyal four legged princess, Lucy. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church Oshkosh.
David is survived by his son, Tod Hunter and “daughter” Marylou Hunter; grandchildren, Jennah and Evan Hunter; brother, Garland (Roxanne) Hunter; and sister, Deborah Hunter.
Services for David will be at 3PM on Friday, July 27, 2018 at Trinity Lutheran Church (370 Bowen St. Oshkosh) Rev. Kelly Leary will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 1Pm until the time of service. An Entombment will take place at Lake View Memorial Park.
