Donald A Effertz

Donald A. Effertz, age 89, passed away at Aurora Medical center on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Don was born to the late Joseph and Martha (Krause) Effertz on November 30, 1928 in Milwaukee. He was a member of the United States Army. He married Anna Eble on May 14, 1955 in Waukesha, WI. They spent 34 years together until her passing in 1989. Don worked as a purchasing manager for WI Magneto Co for 26 years before opening his own Bike Shop. He was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Green Bay. He enjoyed playing golf, and cards; fishing. He loved being with his family and going to Three Lakes, WI
Don is survived by his son, Craig (Karen) Effertz; daughter, Barb (Glenn) Doherty; four grandchildren, Vicki (Jesse) Konkle and Eric Effertz, and Matthew and Molly Doherty; sister, Dolores Reynolds sister-in-law Betty Effertz; brother-in-law, Andy Boneski;.
In addition to his wife and parents, Don was preceded in death by four brothers, Kenneth, Harvey (Lorraine), Walter (Blanche), and Marvin (Mary) Effertz; six sisters, Betty Jane Boneski, Florence (John) Liska, Helen (Walter) Obermann, Lorraine (Jesse) Costello, June (Loren) Podolski, and Bernice Effertz; and brother in law, Robert Reynolds.
Services for Don will be held at 11:30AM on Friday, September 28, 2018 at Ascension Lutheran Church (2911 Libal St, Green Bay, WI). Rev. Luther and Lori Swenson will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 10AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at 1:45PM on Saturday, September 29 at Prairie Home Cemetery.
