Forrest Van Ware

Forrest Van Ware, age 76, passed away unexpectedly on January 28, 2017. Van was born to the late Raymond and Henrietta (Hibbard) Ware on October 14, 1940 in Rhinelander, WI. He graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1958 before marrying the love of his life, Beverly Baker, on August 15, 1959 in Oshkosh, WI; together they had two children. They were members at Immanuel Lutheran Church. During their years as members, Van served on the council as President, Vice President, Treasurer and usher. Van worked at Wald Wire for over 40 years starting out as a welder and finishing his career as President and General Manager in 2007. He belonged to many service clubs in Oshkosh including the Lions Club and Morning Optimist where he was named Man of the Year. Throughout his life, Van enjoyed playing racquetball, golfing (especially his hole in one), cribbage, playing cards, and hunting. He also loved spending time with his family especially holidays and his Packer Parties.Van is survived by his wife, Beverly; two daughters, Cindy (Scott) Schaick, and Michelle (Richard) Gruber; seven grandchildren, Kristin Schaick, Andrew Schaick, Adrienne Gruber, Phillip Gruber, Gwendolyn Gruber, Jacqueline Gruber and Samuel Gruber. He is further survived by his sister, Gordon Lund; sisters-in-law, Haru Ware and Viola (Chuck) Johnson; brother-in-law, William Monroe; and many nieces, nephews, and special friends. Van is preceded in death his parents, Raymond and Henrietta; his brother, Warren Ware; sisters, Darryl Monroe and Virginia Mckenzie; parents-in-law, Nora and Fred Baker.In lieu of flowers, memorials honoring Van can be sent to Immanuel Lutheran Church (338 N Eagle St, Oshkosh, WI 54902) or to the American Heart Association.Private services will be held by the family in accordance with Vans wishes.
