Paul Poeschl

Paul L. Poeschl, age 69 of Oshkosh, passed away on October 5, 2017 at Grancare Nursing Home in Fond du Lac. He was born on February 6, 1948, the son of the late Leo and Ethel (Fischer) Poeschl. After he graduated from 8th Grade at St. Joseph School in Oshkosh, he attended Sacred Heart Seminary in Oneida, Wisconsin for three years, completed his senior year at Lourdes High School in Oshkosh, graduating in 1966. Paul’s first job was a teller at Oshkosh National Bank, then as dispatcher for Wisconsin State Patrol in Fond du Lac. Paul then became Program/Activity Coordinator for the Oshkosh Public Museum until his retirement in 2011. He was a member of the Grand Opera House Guild, the Winnebago County Historical Society, Polish American Society in Menasha and the K-B Club in Oshkosh.
Paul is survived by two sisters: Susan (Allan) Anderson and Barbara Spanbauer; nephews and niece: Daniel Scieszinski, Gregory (Kathy) Anderson, James Spanbauer II and Pamela (Jon) Morgan. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Ellen Scieszinski, and brothers-in-law, Thomas Scieszinski and James Spanbauer. He is also survived by many “Poeschl” and “Fischer” cousins.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament, St. Peter Site, 449 High Ave., with Father Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends and family may visit on Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of service. Private inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Oshkosh.
