Obituary for Randall Paul "Randy" Nienstedt

Randall “Randy” P. Nienstedt, age 65, Oshkosh, died Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his residence.
He was born in Gillett, Wisconsin on January 31, 1952, the youngest son of Ned and Adelia Litke Nienstedt. He married his high school sweetheart Christine Young on September 14, 1974.
He completed a degree in business and marketing from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and thereafter began a career in the paper, first with Central Products of Menasha and then Badger Paper of Peshtigo until his retirement in 2016.
In his free time he attended local concerts, and shared this passion for classic rock and jazz with his son and daughter. He loved animals, especially his golden retrievers Maggie and Sadie. He took great pride in landscaping, woodworking, and found no greater pleasure than sitting on his deck on sunny afternoons with a book and coffee, watching the backyard wildlife. He was a devoted husband, father, friend and neighbor and will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Chris, his daughter, Jess, and son, Aaron. Also his older brother, Noel (Wanda) Nienstedt, brother-in-law, Scott Dryburgh, and his wife’s nine brothers and sisters: Bob (Karen) Young, Mary (Tom) Kuhn, Amy (Don) Calmes, Julie (Mitch) Meunier, Terry Angst, Kay (Tim) Soper, Karen (Rodney) Schwartz, Laurie (Spencer) Henkel, Jim (Corrine) Young, dozens of nieces and nephews, and also great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Bob Young, mother-in-law, Betty Young, his older sister, Nannette Dryburgh, and his nephew, Michael Dryburgh.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 23, 2017 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, Oshkosh. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. Saturday until the time of the service.
