Robert John Weiner

Robert John Weiner, age 91, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Bella Vista with his family by his side. He was born on July 27, 1926 in Oshkosh to Rudolph and Hedwig “Hattie” (Fratzke) Weiner.
Robert graduated from Oshkosh High School. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. After his service he moved to Phoenix, AZ and went on to become a manager at Smitty’ s Hardware store. In 1982 Robert returned home to Oshkosh where he lived out his retirement.
Robert was very proud of being a part of the 2011 Old Glory Honor Flight. It meant a lot to him as a lifetime accomplishment.
Robert is survived by one sister, June (Edward) Swartz; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Dorothy Gunz and Ruth Koehler; and two brothers, Henry and Edgar Weiner.
A funeral service will be held for Robert at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel (2786 Algoma Blvd. Oshkosh, WI) with Chaplin Jim officiating. Visitation will be held at Lake View from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
