Ruth S Reschenberg

Ruth Seiter Reschenberg, age 88, of the Town of Algoma, died February 9, 2017 at Oakwood Manor. She was born June 20, 1928 in Flushing, New York to Otto and Elise Seiter. She was raised in Flushing Meadows, New York, and graduated from Newtown High School, Elmhurst, New York. She and her parents moved to Wallingford, Connecticut after her graduation from high school. Ruth attended Larson College, New Haven, Connecticut, graduating with an Associate Degree in Business. She worked for Wallace Silversmith in Wallingford, Connecticut, as an Executive Secretary. Ruth married Armin Reschenberg on June 18, 1949 in Meriden, Connecticut. After their marriage they moved to Madison, Wisconsin, while Armin completed his degree at the University of Wisconsin. They then moved to Oshkosh where Ruth was a homemaker and raised their two children. Ruth was an active member of St. Johns Evangelical Church, Oshkosh, where she served on the Church Council, head of the Hospitality Committee, was President of the Altar Guild, and active in Social Hour. She also was a City of Oshkosh Poll Worker, member of the Bethel Home Auxiliary, and was a gifted piano player. Ruth was an avid gardener; her gardens were selected for Garden of the Month and were also on the Paine Tour of Gardens. Ruth also was an active volunteer in the schools and at Paine Art Center. Ruth is survived by her two children: Lynn (John) Scoggins of Woodinville, WA; and Gary (June) Reschenberg of Town of Algoma; four grandchildren: Brian (Meagan) Scoggins of Fall City, WA; Kristin (Chris) Rose of Oshkosh, WI; Elise Scoggins of St. Louis, MO; and Peter (Tara) Reschenberg of Denver, CO; and three great-grandchildren, Emmett and Isla Scoggins of Fall City, WA and Vincent Reschenberg of Denver, CO. One niece and two nephews and their families also survive her. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and husband of 60 years, Armin. Ruth was a devoted and loving mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother and will be deeply missed by all of us. At Ruths request, cremation services have taken place, and a Private Family Memorial Service will be held on March 4, 2017. The family would like to thank the Oakwood Manor Staff for their kind, compassionate and loving care and the Staff at Heartland Hospice for all their help.
