Adeline Haesler Ritchie

June 12, 1919 — December 25, 2015

Adeline Haesler Ritchie died December 25th, 2015 at her home enjoying the ever changing views of Lake Butte des Morts. She was born on June 12, 1919 to Henry and Laura Lubenau Haesler. Her parents and her beloved brother John preceded her in death. She married Charles R. Ritchie in May, 1942 and for nearly 65 years they shared an interest in their church, community, friends, and family. Adeline graduated from Rosendale High School and earned a BS degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Her first job was teaching all eight grades in a one room school in Fon du Lac County. She completed her much loved career 26 years later at Franklin School. As a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, 20th Century Club, and Wisconsin/Winnebago County Educators Association, and past member of Mercy Hospital Auxiliary and Eastern Star, she cherished the many friendships she made. She is survived by daughters Nancy C. Ledding and Susan L. Berger ( Dr. Maury Berger), grandsons Dr. Aaron (Carrie) Berger and Joel (Elizabeth) Berger and the absolute loves of her life great grandchildren Maxwell, Alice, Hazel, Sydney, and Aria. She is further survived by devoted family friend Michael Hahn and her extended family in Switzerland. She was most happy spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, especially to the Swiss Alps. Reading, playing cards, watching movies, following the Badgers and the Packers, brush painting and detailed coloring were joys to her. Her one regret is that her vote will not be cast in the 2016 election. Adeline loved life and the beauty that surrounded her...her flowers, hosta gardens, the shimmer of the sunrise or the moon on the water and the songs of the birds, and her beloved cat Casper. Her family wishes to thank Dr. Gremminger and her staff, Dr. Alzoubi and his staff, and her loving helpers Chris and Kathy for making her final days so peaceful. As an avid daily reader of the newspaper we hope she will enjoy this reading. An obituary seems so final, but it's really just a rough draft of a life story. As her favorite song lyrics say We'll meet again, don't know when don't know when!!!! A private family service will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider a gift to the Boys & Girls Club of Oshkosh or the Make A Wish Foundation.
