Agnes Marie Wagner

January 14, 1936 — January 27, 2022

Agnes Marie (Moore) Wagner, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Thursday January 27th 2022, surrounded by her husband and children.

Agnes was born January 14th 1936 in Green Bay to Viola and Edwin Moore.  She spent most of her life in Green Bay, attending Cathedral Grade School and graduating from St. Joseph’s Academy in 1954.  After graduating, she accepted a position as a secretary in the offices of the Green Bay Catholic Diocese.

Agnes met Len Wagner, a St. Norbert College student, at a college dance.  They were married August 17th 1957, made their home in Green Bay and had seven children.   Agnes was a remarkable mother and impeccable home maker.  As a mother, Agnes spent thousands of hours attending her children’s and grandchildren’s activities including musical, school, church and sports events, especially baseball and softball games.  Her kids remember her for whoopee pies, the magic closet, and her fondness of squirrels, kitties and puppies - but most importantly the way she loved and celebrated Christmas.  Agnes’ fun and warmth - and ABUNDANT treats - brought all her children and family home for Christmas each year for nearly seven decades.  Agnes planned for Christmas all year round - that memory and tradition will live on.

In their later years, Agnes enjoyed traveling with Len to England, Mexico, Hawaii , Las Vegas, and many years to Florida for baseball spring training, coconut shrimp and John’s Pass.

Since their first dance, Len adored Agnes.  He lovingly and patiently cared for her to the end as she suffered with Lewey Body dementia.  He will miss her terribly.

Agnes was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, her sister Anne (Leicht) Maloney, brothers-in-law Don Leicht and Jerry Maloney, a close Aunt Mary Geiss and other relatives.Agnes is survived by her husband of 64 years Len Wagner.  She is also survived by her children Carole (Lonny) Wallner of Sheboygan Falls WI, Pete Wagner of Tampa FL, Mike (Gloria) Wagner of Mosinee WI, Barb (Frank) Cavuoti of Warrensburg MO, Terry (Juan) Valero of Oshkosh WI, Trisha (Eddie) Graham of Minneapolis MN, and Mickey (Lance Acker) Wagner of Middleton WI.  She is further survived by her grandchildren Kristen (Patrick) Storm, Kylie (Tyler) Yost, Trevor (Jessica) Wallner, Robyn (Matt) Stoltzmann, David Wagner, Gabriella (Adam) Patrick, Bridget Cavuoti, Robert Valero, Mia Valero, Ben Valero, Isaiah Sanders, Peyton Sanders, and great grandchildren Hope Miller, Willie Patrick and Gracie Wallner.

As preferred by Agnes, private funeral services and Mass were held at St. Raphael Church in Oshkosh on January 31st, and she rests at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Oshkosh.

The family would like to thank the staff at Country Villa Assisted Living in Omro for their tender care of their “Aggi” as well as the professionals at Heartland Hospice.
