Alice J. Grunwald

Alice Jean Grunwald, age 80, passed away on Monday, May 2, 2022, surrounded by her family at Theda Clark Medical Center in Neenah, Wisconsin. She was born in Ogema, Wisconsin on March 15, 1942, to the late August Andree and Georgianna (Kubes) Andree. 

Alice graduated from Westborough high school in 1959, she was very active in student activities. She then attended Marshfield Saint Joseph Hospital School of Nursing, graduating with a nursing diploma in 1962. She met her future husband Terry Grunwald in 1961 while working as a student nurse at the Winnebago State Hospital in Oshkosh. Alice married Terry Grunwald in October 1962. Alice left her work at the Winnebago State Hospital in 1968 becoming a loving devoted full-time wife and mother. She never left her place as a caretaker in the world caring for her parents in her home, watching over her husband‘s parents, and as her children grew, doing some private duty nursing. Alice’s interests and life revolved around those of her family. She was very devoted to her faith as a servant and follower of Christ. 

Alice is survived by her children: Mary (Joe) Wohlleber, Terry Grunwald, Troy Ann (Bruce) Kasuboski and Tracey (Tim) Mishler; grandchildren: Ben (Jordan) Wohlleber, Andrew Wohlleber, Cathryn Wohlleber, Kaine Grunwald, Autumn Grunwald, Noah Grunwald, Chloe (Nate) Varner, Dana Mishler, Aaron Mishler, Kristi (Nathan) Behnke, Kyle Kasuboski; and sister, Margret (Gerald) Burghaus. She has eight great grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence (Terry) Grunwald; parents, August and Georgianna Andree, and sister, Josephine Neuman. 

A memorial service for Alice will be held at 10:30 am on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at St. John’s Lutheran Church 491 Old Oregon Rd., Oshkosh, WI 54902. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 am until the time of service.
