Alice Joan Schukow

Alice Schukow was born June 15, 1935 to the late Alvin and Gertrude Weber in Sheboygan and passed away on January 3, 2016 in Oshkosh at the age of 80. She graduated from Central High School and on June 4, 1955 was united in marriage to Leland Schukow in Sheboygan. She was employed by Polarware in Sheboygan for over 20 years and worked at 4imprint in Oshkosh for 17 years until retiring in 2006. Alice was an area captain for TOPS for many years. She enjoyed her cats, Bootsie and Daisy, puzzles, crossword books, TV game shows and soap operas, playing cards with family and friends, BINGO, polka, performing skits, and randomly singing songs she just made up on a whim. Her fun loving, strong-willed, and positive spirit will be missed dearly.She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Leland of Oshkosh; daughter, Brenda (John) Hawig of Sheboygan; son, Brian (Lynn) Schukow of Brooklyn Park, MN; grandchildren, Lisa (Brian) Spaeth of Oshkosh and Jessica (Thomas) Bush of Edina, MN. She is further survived by her sister, Mitzi Papenfuss of Oshkosh; twin brother, Alvin (Frieda) Weber of Marysville, CA; five brothers-in-law, eight sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and many friends. Alice is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, six brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church (2450 W. 9th Ave, Oshkosh, WI 54904), from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Koepsell officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church or the Oshkosh Area Humane Society in Alices name are appreciated.The family would like to extend a special thank you to the nursing staff at Park View Health Center and Aurora Medical Center who cared for her during her brief stays.
