Amy S. Apell

Amy S. Apell, 86, of Oshkosh, died Sunday September 26, 2010 at Lakeshore Manor. She was born April 30, 1924 in Mayville, WI, a daughter of the late Ernest J. and Anne H. Schneider. Amy married Dr. Melvin G. Apell on January 21, 1943 in Dubuque, IA. Amy was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed time with her friends, knitting, needlepoint, bridge, and golf. She was an avid Badger and Packer fan. Amy was also on the Board of Directors for the Curative Workshop of Oshkosh. Her survivors include her husband Dr. Melvin Apell of Oshkosh; two daughters Susan (Richard) Fenn of Madison and Elizabeth A. (William) Norlund of Dallas; two sons Stephen (Cheryl) Apell of Oshkosh and Scott (Mary Anne) Apell of San Diego; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers Thomas and John Schneider. Private services are being planned for Amy with Rev. Steven Powers officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Memorials in Amys memory are being established for the E.J. Schneider Memorial Scholarship, the Oshkosh Area Humane Society, and the Affinity Visiting Nurses Association(Hospice). Amys family would like to thank the staff at Lakeshore Manor and Affinity VNA for all the special care and help given.
