Anton Joseph Putzer

Anton J Putzer Jr, Town of Black Wolf passed away on December 6, 2011 at Evergreen Retirement Community after a courageous fight with Multiple Sclerosis. He was born May 12, 1935 in Oshkosh, the son of Anton Sr and Helen (LeRoy) Putzer. In 1958 Tony married Jill A Ahl at St Peters Church Oshkosh. They had four children Katherine A Putzer, Ronald J Putzer, Sara A Bronson and Jennifer L Olesen.Tony started working for the Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper in his youth as a paperboy on a bicycle route, continuing in high school with a driving route. In 1957 he entered into a six year journeyman apprenticeship and retired 42 years later as the Production Manager.Never one to sit still he accepted an appointment from the Town of Black Wolf to chair the committee to build a new town hall and garage. In 2000 Tony was appointed treasurer for the Town of Black Wolf Sanitary District, retiring from there in 2011 for health reasons.Tonys commitment to family and community showed his generous nature. At every family occasion he celebrated life encouraging all his grandchildren to play cribbage and participate in tournaments. For some reason each of his seven grandchildren think they are grandpas favorite.Tony was a problem solver, had a creative mind, and used his talents doing woodworking/carpentry projects and built a workshop of his dreams.Anton is survived by Jill, his wife of 53 years, children Ronald (Anne Marie), Sara (Jerry) and Jennifer. Seven grandchildren Amanda Putzer, Adam Putzer, Abigail Putzer, David Bronson, Rebecca Bronson, Molly Bronson and Hannah Olesen. Brother Thomas G Putzer, sister Mary Ann Burr (Frederick), brother-in-law Roy S Ahl (Andrea) and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his mother and father Anton Sr and Helen Putzer and infant daughter Katherine.A time of gathering to celebrate Antons life will be held on Friday December 9, 2011 at St Jude the Apostle, St. Vincents Church, 216 W South Park Ave Oshkosh. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a Memorial Mass to follow with Father Matt Simonar officiating. Inurnment will be in Scared Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Father Carr - Charities. The Putzer family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Evergreen and the Heartland Hospices for the love and care given to Tony during his illness and to friends whose prayers and kindness will always be remembered.
