Arthur Walsh passed away on December 9 at home with his family by his side. He was 88 years old. Arthur was born in Oshkosh, Wl on January 11, 1925 to Arthur and Hazel (Schmidt) Walsh. On May 19, 1947, Arthur married Mary Ann Frank, who he called one of the greatest blessings in his life.Arthur was dearly loved and is survived by his five children: Marlene Walsh, Oshkosh; Michael (Vicki) Walsh, Oshkosh; Richard (Linda) Walsh, Los Angeles, CA; Jean (Dewey) Josephson, Oshkosh; and John (Kim) Walsh of Los Alamos, CA. His grandchildren, Aaron Walsh, Oshkosh; Erik Walsh, Milwaukee; Daphne Walsh, Chicago, IL; Niko, Koby and Kianna Walsh of Los Angeles, and two great-grandsons, Kain and Caleb. He was preceded in death by Mary Ann his wife of 61 years, his parents, brothers-end sisters-in-law, nephews and his niece.Arthur was an avid sports enthusiast and a life-long Cub fan. He spent many years playing slow-pitch softball and then became an umpire. He was actively involved in his children's lives, and was a great dad, coach and mentor.Arthur entered the U.S. Naval Academy at age 17 by enlistment. During WWII, he served on destroyers, and PT boats while stationed in the Philippines and LCI's or Landing Craft for Infantry while stationed in Japan. He was recalled to active service in 1951 and again proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict, stationed once more in Japan.Arthur spent his entire career working in the wholesale plumbing and pump industry.At Arthur's request, a private service will be held. He will be interred beside his wife in Sacred Heart Cemetery.Thanks for being the greatest Dad that anyone could ever hope for.
