Audrey L. Harris

Audrey L. Harris, age 91 of Oshkosh, passed away at Ascension Mercy Hospital on Sunday, January 10, 2021. She was born to the late Clarence and Mary (Malone) Saville in Detroit, MI. on September 25, 1929. Audrey married John Harris on January 29, 1950. Their marriage was blessed with four children. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Madonna College in Michigan. She was a grade school teacher at Saint Sabina Catholic School in Dearborn Heights, MI for 25 years.
She was a member of St. Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church in Oshkosh. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Audrey enjoyed playing cards, especially Canasta. Prior to John’s death in 2014, the couple traveled all over the world together. They lived on Hutchinson Island, Florida for over 20 years.
Audrey is survived by her children, Nancy Paletko, Michael (Barbara) Harris, Mark (Susan) Harris and Paul (Jill) Harris; grandchildren: Marie and Ann Paletko, Rowan (Whit) Weber, Alan (Maureen) Harris, Eric (Lexi), Troy (Elizabeth), Grant (Katie) Harris, Steven, Julie, Ellen and David Harris; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Andrew Harris, Owen and Collin Harris; sister, Barbara (Joe) Wentrack. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 64 years.
A private burial will take place at St. Hedwig Cemetery, Dearborn Heights Michigan.
Memorials in Audrey’s name may be sent to Evergreen Retirement Community or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family of Audrey would like to thank the staff and residents of Evergreen Retirement Community for the loving care and comradery extended towards Audrey during the time living there.
