Barbara Ann Luft

On Wednesday, June 28, 2017, we lost the matriarch of our family. Our hearts are broken. Barbara A. Luft, age 82, passed away at Manor View of Evergreen. She was born on March 26, 1935, in Rochester, New York to Edward and Irene (Byrns) Norton. She was married to Robert Luft on June 6, 1959.
Barbara graduated from Marinette high school and received her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh. She worked as an RN at St. Alphonses hospital in Port Washington, WI until her retirement.
She is survived by her four children: Lisa (Tom) VandeHey of Appleton, Christine Szepanski of Marinette, Karen Kuhlmann of Holmen and David (Adrianne) Luft of Port Washington; grandchildren: Joshua Kuhlmann, Abbigail Kuhlmann, Callie (Alex) Nimmo, Gabrielle Kuhlmann, Erik, Justen and Ryan Luft; brother: James “Jim” (Joyce) Norton of Florida; and sister in law: Jennifer Norton of Arden, NC; and special friends: Barb Beck, Linda Calica and Jan Pennau.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Robert; and brother: Donald Norton.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2017, at St. Raphael Archangel Catholic Church (830 N. Westhaven Dr.) with Fr. Doug LeCaptain officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you please make memorials to St. Raphael or to the Evergreen Foundation in Barbara’s name.
