Barry L. Wegner, 74, of Oshkosh died Saturday November 7, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born August 18, 1941 in Fond du Lac a son of the late Lester and Marion Zillges Wegner. He married Debbi Gibson on January 30, 1982 in Oshkosh.Barry retired from Rockwell Int. after working there for 31 years and was a member of the UAW Local 291. He raised pigeons for 60 years, was a member of the Fond du Lac All Variety Pigeon Club-where he was president for many years, and was the first Master Breeder in North America of the Baldhead Show Roller Pigeons. He was on the Winnebago County Fair Board for 15 years until he could no longer serve due to health issues. He was a proud member of the NRA and West Shore Fishing Club, a Master Gardener, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and nobody made soup like he did. He looked forward to winter trips to Florida to visit Rolly and Joni LeBeck. He was always willing to share his knowledge in all areas of his life. Most of all he treasured his time with his family-especially grandchildren- and friends.Barry is survived by his wife, Debbi; children, Scott (Angie) Wegner, Randy (Patty) Wegner, Chris Boehning, and Jeff (Tonya) Gibson; grandchildren, Kevin (Lisa) Wegner, Tyler Wegner, Brittany and Drew Boehning, Lester, Malchi and Grace Wegner, and Colby Gibson and one on the way Suttyn Gibson; a great-granddaughter, Braelynn Wegner; sisters, Lori Felix and Debbie (John) Morstad; a brother, Mike (Marilyn) Wegner; sisters-in-law, Linda (Gary) Monday, Sharon Gibson, and Lisa Gibson; nieces and nephews, Jerod (Julie), Eric (Cali), MacKenzie (Brian), Connie, Brian, Missy (Jim), Jimmy, Rhonda (Eric), Becca (Gary), Jonathon, Ashley, Heather (Willard), Courtney (Ryan), and Ben; aunts, uncles, cousins, and all his special friends that spent time with him-especially during his illness. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Judy Pahlow; father-in-law Lester Gibson; and mother-in-law Mary Gibson Kirk.A memorial service for Barry will be held Friday, November 13, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. at Living Water Lutheran Church (1585 S. Oakwood Road), Rev. John Dorn officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. 7:00 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside and again Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established. To honor Barry please dress casual for the services.Barrys family sends a special thank you to Pastor Dorn, Dr. Gremminger, LaDonna, Dr. Reiser, Dr. Ringwala, and the intensive care doctors and wonderful intensive care staff for all the help and care they gave.The love and support, while in ICU, from our amazing families-children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends-is something that will never be forgotten.
