Bernice Charleen Norton

Bernice C. Norton, age 69, of Oshkosh, found peace on March 8, 2011 after a courageous 12 year battle with emphysema. She was born on July 15 1941 in Neenah a daughter of Glenn and Effie Forsythe Miller. On October 21, 1961 she married James Norton Sr. in Oshkosh.She was a nurses aid at Park View Health Center, enjoyed playing darts, listening to country music, dancing to 50s music, and collecting angels. Family and friends were very important to her and she always put family first.She is survived by her husband James Sr., three sons James(Julie) Norton Jr., Donald(Joann) Norton, Michael Norton, two daughters Carol Norton, Tammy(significant other Les Mohr) Monday, eight grandchildren Dustin Salm, Anthony A.J. Salm, Rochelle(significant other Charles Hoskins) Monday, Sarah Norton, Joseph Norton, Jessica(Chad) Nickerson, Taylor Bauman, Tarah Bauman, four great-grandchildren Jayla Hoskins, Matt Haberkorn, Caitlin Wegner, Carver Nickerson, two brothers Edward Miller, and Harold(Treasure) Miller.She was preceded in death by one son David Norton, three brothers George Miller, Donald Miller, Glen Miller, and three sisters Mary Jane Mueller, Helen Kunde, Donna Bottine.Funeral services will be held on Sunday March 13, 2011 at 7 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday at the funeral home from 3 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park.A memorial has been established.The family would like to thank Aurora Visiting Nurses especially Pat Jahner, Dr. Alzoubi, the nursing staff at Aurora ICU and Cheryl the care coordinator.
