Bernice E. Lindner

December 28, 1925 — September 2, 2018

Bernice E. Lindner, age 92, passed away on September 2, 2018. She was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on December 28, 1925. She lived there until 2000 when she moved with her husband to Medina, Ohio to be near their only child.

Bernice retired after 30 years of service with the Winnebago State Mental Health Hospital. She then volunteered weekly there for several years.

A charter member of St. Andrew’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, Bernice was very active in the choir, altar guild, Women’s Bible Study Group, and assisted in organizing the church’s food pantry. She maintained her church membership in Oshkosh while also becoming a member of Prince of Peace Ev. Lutheran Church in Medina. Bernice was strong in her faith. She was a very compassionate, kind person who was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. All who shared in her life were certainly touched and enriched by her. She will be truly missed here on earth, but greeted with open arms in Heaven.

Bernice and her husband, George J. Lindner, enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S.A. and Europe. Later she became George’s devoted caretaker until his death in 2004. They were married on December 19, 1945 lasting 58 years. They had one beloved daughter and son-in-law, Patricia A. & John C. Lehmann Sr. Bernice was extremely proud of her two grandchildren, Jana C. (David) Gerding from Medina and John C. (Philine) Lehmann Jr. from New York. She was blessed with one great-granddaughter, Olivia C. Lehmann. The last survivor of 5 children born to Arthur & Anna Woldt, Bernice had a twin brother, Bernard Woldt. Her other siblings included George (Lucille) and Chester (Mabel) Woldt, Leona (Donald) Laudenklos, and Anita (Earl) Drown. Bernice was blessed and remained close to her many nieces and nephews.
