Beverly J. Babler

Beverly J. Babler, age 91, of Fond du Lac, died Saturday February 4, 2023 with her family by her side at Hospice Home of Hope. She was born on February 7, 1931 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Ervin and Eleanor Miller. On April 24, 1948 she married Glenn “Stub” Babler at Peace Lutheran Church.


Bev worked in the service area her entire life, as a teenage bookkeeper at her father’s Kroger Store in Oshkosh, co-owner of Village Grocery in Van Dyne, also worked at Lauer’s Food Mart in Fond Du Lac, and Wendt’s Bar in Van Dyne. She was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Nekimi. Bev enjoyed spending time and sharing a “few” beers and Old Fashions with friends at Ala Roma and celebrating Halloween dressing up as “Minnie Pearl”.


She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years Glenn Babler in 2014.


Bev is survived by two sons, Gary (Karen) Babler of North Fond du Lac, Rick (Mary) Babler of Punta Gorda, FL, sister-in-law Lois (fiancé John Robley) Giese of Longmont, CO, four grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Sanders, Jayson (Kristin) Babler, Tracie (John) Schneck, Tina (Travis) Krueger, three step-grandchildren Nathan (Nicole) Gast, Aaron Gast, and Jesse Gast, seven great-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild, and special friend Wayne Berger.


She was preceded in death by her parents Ervin and Elanor Miller, in-laws Raymond and Martha Babler, and Lyle and Joyce Babler. The family extends a special thank you to everyone at Hospice Home of Hope who managed her care in recent weeks.

Private funeral services will be held.


In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
