Bonnie A Brayton

May 16, 1921 — September 30, 2012

Bonnie A. Brayton, of Oshkosh, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 30, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. She was born Bonita Agnes Flanagan on May 16, 1921, in Picket, Wisconsin, to William and Elizabeth Flanagan. She was a member of Wyldewood Baptist Church, where she sang in the choir for years. She and son, Jeff, blessed many folks in nursing homes and churches throughout the state with their singing. She always had a song on her lips and a twinkle in her eye and was often heard whistling. She volunteered for many years at the Cameo Shop before they hired her as manager, where she received her first pay check at the age of 72. She also volunteered at Wyldewood Christian School as the Art Teacher for 33 years. Her last job was at 4-Imprint in the distribution center, where she worked until two weeks before her 90th birthday. She said, I dont think I want to work any more after I turn 90, so I may as well quit now. After retiring, she spent hours embroidering so each of her children and grandchildren could have a piece of her heart. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, S. Arthur Brayton; one son, Jeffrey Thomas; a son-in-law, Roy Burton; two grandsons, Christopher Petri and Andrew Luedtke; six brothers and their wives, Don (Lorraine), Leon (Dorothy), Carroll (Katherine), Milton (Dorothy), Robert, Clayton (Ginny); a sister-in-law, Midge; brothers-in-law, Jim Brisky, Robert Lotz, and Rudy Freund. She is survived by thirteen of her children: Robert Arthur (Paula), Anne (Jim) Petri, Bonnie Droessler, Liz (Mike) Haanstad, Jane (Dick) Spanbauer, Ellen (Steve) Read, Cynthia Burton, Katherine (Chris) Vorster, Beverly (James) Rousseau, William Sanford (Roberta), Timothy David (Gina), Donald Charles (Lori), Edward James (Tami); two daughters-in-law: Macy Brayton and Carol Creed; and honorary daughter Vicki Koch. Also surviving are her three sisters: Elizabeth Freund, Elaine Brisky, and Jeanette Lotz; three brothers: Bud (Phyllis), Merlyn, and John (Margaret); thirty-seven grandchildren, forty great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, and countless nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Bonnie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Wyldewood Baptist Church (3030 W Witzel Ave - Oshkosh) with the Rev. Randy King officiating. Visitation will be held at the Konrad-behlman Funeral Home - Westside on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again at church on Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Ellenwood Cemetery.Mother, what you gave to us, Is truly such a gift!Thank you for always being there, And giving us a lift.Your words are always encouraging,When we feel we are in doubt,You were always comfortingWhen we were feeling left out.You gave us love unselfishly,You always put us first. You always gave us a place to go,When things were at their worst. You set an example of how to live life,Not to get worked up over little things. You took each challenge one day at a time,It didnt matter whatever life brings.
