Brian J. Harron, 60, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 8, 2021. Brian was born in Oshkosh on June 17, 1960 to James Harron and Jo (Brouchek) Riese.
Brian graduated from Oshkosh West High School in 1978 and served four years in the United States Air Force, reaching the rank of Sergeant. He was a mechanic on the F-4 Phantom jet and enjoyed his service greatly. Prior to service, Brian was an avid target shooter; and in the Air Force earned the marksmanship ribbon for his skills. During his time in the service, Brian enjoyed attending concerts – one with the B-52’s as an opener for the Talking Heads.
Brian married Linda Veith on August 31, 1992 in Oshkosh, WI. He and Linda had a short marriage but remained close friends. Brian made a career at Oshkosh B’Gosh working his way up to head shipping clerk, making many life-long friends.
He enjoyed many hobbies, especially bicycling and kayaking. For many years, Brian and his friends would bike around Lake Winnebago (about 95 miles) for their annual Memorial Day and Labor Day rides, with many group rides in between. With kayaking, he mastered the ‘Eskimo roll’ and once paddled the width of Lake Winnebago. Brian was also a cat lover and always had at least one cat at home.
Brian is survived by his mother Jo Riese and stepfather Bob Riese, Oshkosh WI, brother Tom (Heide) Harron, Holmen, WI and four sisters Jill (Randy) Stini, Oshkosh WI, Ann Riese, Germantown, WI, Lori (Rick) Halstead, Oshkosh, WI and Nancy (Shannon) Rahmlow, Oshkosh WI.
