Byron D. Leinweber

Byron D. Leinweber, age 92 of Oshkosh, passed away at Eden Meadows on Monday, May 15, 2023. He was born to the late Henry and Catherine (Dipple) Leinweber on March 8, 1931. Byron married Carol Domer on June 7, 1958 and had two children.

Byron served in the United States Navy. He worked as a surveying instructor at Fox Valley Technical College for 30 years. Byron was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, the Masonic Lodge #27 F. & A.M. and the Shriners International. Throughout his life he enjoyed spending time with his family, golfing, gardening, and working outside. He had a talent for woodcarving and painting.

He is survived by his daughter, Cathy (Kurt) Schlieter; grandson, Andrew Schlieter; daughter-in-law, Aleluz Leinweber.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carol; son, Bryan; siblings, Arlyle Matsche, Clifford Leinweber, and Beverly Sphatt.

A funeral service with military honors for Byron will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Zion Lutheran Church, 400 N. Sawyer with Rev. Jeffrey Knoll officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
