Carl R. Potratz

Carl R. Duke Potratz, 90 of Oshkosh died at his home on Sunday January 29, 2006. He was born in the Town of Nekimi on December 23, 1915 the son of Albert and Anna Fisher Potratz. On June 7, 1952 he married Arleen Nitschke in the Town of Nekimi.Duke was salesman for the DeKalb Seed Co. and Cowan Farm Dairy. He had also been employed by the Oshkosh Country Club, Rockwell International, the Joe Stadtmueller Co. and lastly by the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, retiring in 1978. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and camping.Duke is survived by his wife, Arleen Potratz of Oshkosh, a daughter, Debra (Michael) Cushman of Oshkosh, seven sons, Calvin (Theresa Potratz of Oshkosh, Warren (Janice) Potratz of Oshkosh, Glenn (Pauline) Potratz of Oshkosh, Stanley (Christine) Potratz of Racine, Russell (Wendy) Potratz of Oshkosh, Jeffery (Susan) Potratz of Oshkosh, and Gregory (Amanda) Potratz of Oshkosh, fourteen grandchildren, Christine Cushman of Oshkosh, Michael, Daniel, Christopher, Jennifer, Alexander, Amy, Bryan, Allyson, Zak, Madi, Joseph, Elizabeth, and Abigail Potratz all of Oshkosh, step grandchildren, Sam Hernandez, and Michele (Ty) Chacon of Racine, and great grandson, Tyler of Racine, and by a sister/in/law, Alice Potratz of Oshkosh. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Lawrence and Gilbert Potratz, and by four sisters, Elda Strey, Margaret Ahlswede, Ruth Tessendorf, and infant, Edna Potratz.His funeral will be Thursday February 2, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside with the Rev. Kathryn Schreitmueller officiating. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4- 8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10 AM until the time of the service. A memorial has been established.
