Carol Gloria Discher

Carol G. Discher, 80, of Oshkosh died Friday, December 23, 2005 at her home. Born December 20, 1925 a daughter of Edward and Nellie (Ringstad) Kaufman in Mattoon, WI. On August 3, 1946 she married Melvin W. Discher in Oshkosh.Carol was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who lived for her family. She never missed a ball game, a birthday party, a wedding, or a concert. She was always fun to be around and had a zest for life. You always knew where she stood on an issue. She was so proud of her family. Melvin and Carol celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary this past August. This week her whole family gathered to celebrate her 80th birthday. Carol is survived by her husband Melvin of Oshkosh; son Bruce M. (Dawn) Discher of Oshkosh; daughters Kristi C. (Harold) Timmerman of Poy Sippi, Barbara J. (Donald) Metoxen of Princeton; grandchildren Carrie (Donald) Steiner, Melissa (Mark) Edinger, Rebecca (Stephen) Nankervis, Matthew Metoxen, Marc Metoxen, John Discher, Anna Discher, and Jill Discher; great grandchildren Rachel Steiner, Lindsey Steiner, Emily Edinger, and Ava Nankervis. She is also survived by brothers Mervil (Minnie) Kaufman of Eland, Roger Kaufman of Fond du Lac, and Peter Kaufman of Antigo; sisters Nadine Kohls of Eland, Marjorie Wolff of Eland, and Phyllis (Gary) Meidl of Columbus, OH; brother-in-law Gilbert Discher of Oshkosh; sister-in-law Angeline Discher of Birnamwood; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Carol is preceded in death by sisters Merna Carlson and Patricia Carlson; brothers-in-law Kenneth Discher, Harold Discher, and Clarence Discher; sisters-in-law Leona Discher, Gertrude Discher, and Anita Salzsieder. Funeral service for Carol will be Wednesday, December 28, 2005 at Noon at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Milton Staskal officiating. Family and friends may call on Tuesday, December 27, 2005 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- West and also on Wednesday at church from 11:00 AM until the time of service. Burial will be in Peace Lutheran Cemetery.We are so grateful to our many friends and family who have offered their condolences during our time of sorrow. Carol was a beautiful woman who will be sorely missed.
