Carolyn S. Drews

August 18, 1945 — May 5, 2022

Carolyn “Colly” Sue Drews was born on August 18, 1945, to Eugene and Mildred Drews in Danville, Illinois. Colly was one of three children. Carolyn passed away on May 5, 2022, surrounded by family. Carolyn met her ex-husband, Robert, and they had two daughters together, Kim and Kristy. While they eventually divorced, they never stopped caring for one another.

Colly spent the last sixteen years as a resident of Centennial Inn forming many friendships and memories with both the staff and residents. The compassionate staff not only cared for Colly, but also helped draw her out of her room with trivia games – which she loved. Carolyn loved her unsweetened ice tea, Diet Pepsi, bean burritos from Taco Bell, and the cake pops/birthday meals made by her granddaughter and her significant other.

Carolyn is survived by her daughters Kim (Rick) Bluhm and Kristy (Miguel Viramontes) Chan. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Nicole (Tiffany) White, Rebecca, Richard Jr., Leticia (T’kirian) Chan-Randolph, Rayoung, and Mia. She is further survived by two great-grandchildren: Ananias and Lei’lani Chan-Rudolph. Colly was proceeded in death by her parents Eugene and Mildred Drews, sister Sharon Mason, sister Sandy Smith, and her ex-husband Robert.

A private burial will be held by the family at a later date.

The family would like to thank all those at Centennial Inn who learned her quirks and treated her like family. Thank you to the many at Winnebago County Social Services/ADRC who help our mom and Kim navigate through the various challenges. Also, thank you to Heartland Hospice and Kaci. While her time with you was short, it did provide comfort.
