Charles D Schilling

Charles D. Schilling, age 87, passed away at the Courtyard of Oshkosh on Saturday, March 5, 2022. He was born to the late Edward and Lydia Schilling on January 15, 1935 in Oshkosh. After graduating from Oshkosh High School, Chuck went on to obtain his Associates degree from Fox Valley Technical College. He married the love of his life, Phyllis Steineke, on June 23, 1956 in Oshkosh. Chuck spent his career at SNC Manufacturing. Chuck loved his dogs especially his Shi-tzu, Oreo. He enjoyed being outdoors and going fishing, especially with his daughters and Phyllis. Chuck and Phyllis enjoyed travelling all over the country, especially going out west to see the mountains. One of his favorite hobbies was his electric model trains, which he maintained throughout his life. Chuck enjoyed watching many Green Bay Packers games, and golf. He and Phyllis both enjoyed their trips to some local casinos as well as their trip out to Las Vegas.  As his family grew, he loved to spend time with his only granddaughter, Amanda.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis; daughter Linda (Randy) Brown; and granddaughter, Amanda Hawley.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his daughter, Dianna Hawley; brother, John Schilling; and sister, Hazel (Harry) Kallas.
A service for Chuck will be held at the Lake View Memorial Park Chapel (2786 Algoma Blvd) on Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 2PM. A visitation will take place from noon until the time of service. An entombment will follow the service.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Courtyard for their care of Chuck during his time with them and a special thank you to the staff of Aseracare Hospice, we could not have gone through what we did without them.
