Charles J. Wagner,86, died, Sunday December 12, 2010 at Aurora Medical Health Center. Charles was born January 30, 1924, in Johnsburg, WI to the late Joseph and Mathilda (Stephany) Wagner. He married Florence A. Albrecht November 18, 1950 in West Bend, WI. She preceded him in death on December 3, 2004. Charles served his country in the U.S. Army in World War II. He retired from Beloit Manhattan in 1987. Charles was also an Ice Cream Truck Driver and a proud Co-owner of Menominee Express. He was involved with the American Legion, Oshkosh Warriors Drum and Bugle Corp., and Indian Guides. Charles also took pride in his rose gardens and traveling. Over the years he managed to travel to all 50 states and to Europe with Florence. Charles always liked to participate in his favorite sport of golfing along with many other sports. He was also a member of Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church most of his life.Charles is survived by four sons David (Jacqueline) Wagner of Oshkosh, John (Barbara) Wagner of West Bend, Daniel Wagner of Chicago, IL, and Paul Wagner of Oshkosh, and daughter Kathleen (Michael) Brown of Oshkosh. He is also survived by grandchildren, Tracy (Daniel) Pattion, Kimberly, Christopher CJ, Cheyanne, Julie (Greg) Nash, Kathy (Ross) Hackbarth, Laura, Wendy (Nathan) Larson, James, Nicholas, and Emily Wagner, and Alyssa and Brian Brown, three great-grandchildren Angelique and Damian Pattion, and Ryan Nash, a brother Norman (Alice) Wagner of Oshkosh, and a sister-in-law Phyllis (Donald) Held of Slinger. He was preceded in death by a son Steven Wagner on May 30, 1996 and 10 brother and sisters.There will be a funeral service for Charles on Wednesday December 15, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at Martin Luther Ev. Lutheran Church, (1526 Algoma Blvd.) with Revs. Jeffrey Berg and Nathan Ericson officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 4:00 p.m. until the service. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Charles family would like to thank Dr. Dar and the nursing staff on 2 West at Aurora for all their wonderful care and help.
