Charlotte A. Oaks, affectionately known as ?oeGranny??, died on Monday, November 8, 2010, at Mercy Medical Center at the age of 87. She was born May 21, 1923, in Oshkosh, the daughter of the late Otto H. and Wilhelmina (Wegner) Becker. She attended Longfellow Elementary School, graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1940, and then attended UW-Oshkosh for two years. She married Robert M. Oaks, Sr. on February 7, 1942, in Waukegan, IL. They were married for 53 years until his death in 1995. Once her 5 children were mostly grown, she joined Bob in the operation of the family business, Oaks Candy of Oshkosh. She remained very much involved and an integral part of the business until just recently.Granny?TMs family meant everything to her. She is survived by her five children: Patricia (Roman) Jungers of Waupaca, WI, Barbara (Steven) Fogtman of Oshkosh, Robert ?oeGus?? Jr. (Karen) Oaks of Oshkosh, William Oaks of Omro, and John (Linda) Oaks of Wrightstown, WI.By her 17 grandchildren: Michael (Lori) Jungers of Waupaca, Peter Jungers of Waupaca; Anne Fogtman (Tim Killilea) of Oshkosh, Jane Fogtman (Francis Fletcher) of New York, NY, Kristen Fogtman-Faust (Peter Faust) of Shorewood, WI; Michael (Heather) Oaks of Oshkosh, Karey (Larry) Gilman of Oshkosh, Kelly (Missie) Robl of Oshkosh, David (Lisa) Robl of Omro; Rusty (Kirsten) Oaks of Fountain, MN, Wendy (John) Wilcox of Grand Meadow, MN, William (Dawn) Oaks of Omro, Kristy (Sean) Gelhar of Omro, Kathy Oaks of Oshkosh, Jamie Oaks of Lawrence, KS; Rebecca (Michael) Buechler of Combined Locks, Jennifer (D.J.) Ley of Greenleaf.By her 24 great-grandchildren: Kimberly and Courtney Jungers, Nicholas and Claire Jungers all of Waupaca; Oliver Fletcher of New York, NY, Isabelle (who shared the same birthday as Granny) and Oscar Faust both of Shorewood; Drew and Josie Oaks of Oshkosh, Hailey and Blaine Robl of Oshkosh, Corey (Kelli) Robl of Prairie du Chien, Casey and Chas Robl of Omro; Carly and Kate Oaks of Fountain, MN, Jessica and Zoe Wilcox of Grand Meadow, MN, Cody Kienast and Ryan Delap of Omro, Madeline and Cain Gelhar of Omro; Grace and Michaela Buechler of Combined Locks, Anna and Isaiah Ley of Greenleaf; and 3 great-great grandchildren: Dawson and Drake Robl of Prairie du Chien and Lindsey Robl of Oshkosh; and a special niece, Anne Robbins, of New York, NY.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Bob, a brother William Becker, a sister Louise Robbins, and Bob?TMs three brothers, Stanley, Kenneth, and Richard Oaks.The memorial service for Charlotte will be held Sunday, November 14, 2010, at 4 p.m. at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Eastside in Oshkosh. Visitation will be held Sunday at the Waugoo Ave. funeral home from 2 p.m. until the service. A memorial has been established.
