Clifford M. Sundquist Sr.

Clifford M. Sundquist Sr. age 75 of Oshkosh, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at MeadowBrook at Appleton after a courageous battle with lung cancer. He was born on May 31, 1947 to the late Walter and Gladys (Cornelius) Sundquist in Oshkosh. He married Joyce Reif, and together they raised six children.

Clifford served in the United States Army. He retired from the Winneconne Community School District as a custodian. He was a Wisconsin sports fanatic, and an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping. He had a knack for welding, woodworking, and gardening, and was always willing to share his talents with others. Clifford always kept up with current events, and the local weather. He was a collector of many different things throughout life. Clifford loved his family, and never missed an opportunity to read “The Poky Little Puppy” to the grandkids and great grandkids. He will always be remembered as a man who put others before himself.

Clifford is lovingly survived by his wife, Joyce Sundquist; children: Laura Salzer, Lillian Otto, Sharon Sundquist, Cliff (Nicole) Sundquist Jr, Jennifer (Shaun) Daugherty; grandchildren: Skye, Kay, Victoria, John, Alexandria, Joy, Kathleen, Michael, Davana, Melissa, Connor, Cliff, Jamie, Cheyanna, Paige, Christopher, and Carissa; 25 great grandchildren; son-in-law: Doug Boushele; siblings: John, Leo, Jeff (Linda) Sundquist, Marilyn (Bob) Deffibaugh; sisters-in-law: Ellen Sundquist, and Carolyn (Rick) Witzel.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Boushele, great granddaughter, Willow Thomas; siblings: Walter Sundquist, Gilbert Sundquist, Charles Sundquist, Nancy (Ken) Hyler; sister-in-law: Holly Sundquist.

A funeral service for Clifford will be held at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 11, 2022 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Dr. with Rev. Connie Weiss officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of the service. A reception at New Life Community Church will follow the service. Interment with Military Honors will be held at Riverside Cemetery on Friday at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established for the Fisher House Wisconsin.

Clifford’s family would like to thank the staff of Heartland Hospice, MeadowBrook at Appleton, the Zablocki VA Medical Center, and the Fisher House Wisconsin  for the wonderful care provided to Clifford and his family throughout this difficult journey.
