Our Savior Jesus Christ welcomed home His dear child Dale Mandeik on Wednesday, October 17th. Dale, 84, was a baptized and confirmed child of God at the age of 12 at Mt. Morris Holden Lutheran Church. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church with his beloved wife Faith of 56 years. Ten children, ten grandchildren, and numerous family and friends will always remember his devotion to his family, dedication to Christian education, tireless work ethic, and unique sense of humor. Dale was a proud employee of the Soo Line Railroad as a Signalman for 42 years and loved the opportunity to share his knowledge with others almost as much as spending time at his cabin in the northwoods.
A Christian Service of Victory will be celebrated on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4:30 PM at Grace Ev. Lutheran Church, 913 Nebraska St., Oshkosh, with Pastor Chad Graham officiant. A visitation will precede the service from 2-4:30 PM. Any gifts or memorials are asked to be donated to the Grace Lutheran Building Renovation or to Winnebago Lutheran Academy.
Dale is survived by his wife Faith (nee Henckel) and children Tim, Kay (Axel) Peikert, Tad (Kelly), Gay (Ron) Long, Joy, Meg Matschnig, Emy (Ken) Zettler, Ivy (John) Mitchell, Jed (Heather), and Ned.
“The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want...Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever” (Psalm 23 KJV).
