Daniel N. Burns, 68, of Oshkosh, passed away at his home on July 19, 2016 surrounded by his family. Dan was born on July 23, 1947 to the late Albert and Mable (Schnyder) Burns. He married Vesta Haslanger on January 14, 1983. Dan was a Vietnam veteran who worked at Leach Co. for over 30 years and later retired from the State of Wisconsin in 2014. He enjoyed duck hunting, bowling and fishing. Dan was a Brewer and Dolphin fan. He also enjoyed watching Dancing with the StarsJust kidding. He had a special love for his dogs: Cocoa, Duffy, Dizzy and Gracie Allen.Dan is survived by his wife: Vesta; son: Patrick (Gwen Stella) and children: Payton, Nick, Shalynn and Shana; daughter: Jodi (Matt) Hanson and children: Corey, Ava and Rica; one brother: Michael and his daughter: Allie (Brad Henn); and one sister: Gail (Bill Henker); and one brother-in-law, Mark (Jan) Haslanger and their family. A memorial service will be held at 12:00p.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside, 100 Lake Pointe Drive, with Rev. Karin Derenne officiating. Friends and family may visit at the funeral home from 10:00a.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will be at Riverside Cemetery from with military honors. A special thanks to Dr. Virani and the wonderful people at Vince Lombardi Cancer Center.Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.-anonymous.
