Darwin E. Kienert

Darwin Kienert, 80, lost his battle with cancer on July 1, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by his family. Darwin was born on October 6, 1930 in Saxeville, WI to Ben and Lily (Jenson) Kienert (both deceased). On May 21, 1983 he married Sandy. Darwin had a great love of the outdoors and spent many hours either in the woods hunting or on the water fishing. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.Darwin was an over the road truck driver for 30 years retiring in 1982. After retirement he owned and operated Tuffys Tavern in Oshkosh for 10 years. Darwin is survived by his wife of twenty eight years, Sandy; two sons, Dan of Oshkosh and Doug (Kelly) of Gwinn, MI, three daughters, Merry (Bruce) Meunier of Houston, TX, Cindy Houle of Oshkosh, and Becky Hamp of Boulder, CO, step son, Tim (Becky) Sawicki, step daughters Lori (Gregg) Ulrich and Lisa (Bill) Busby. Darwin is also survived by four sisters, Bonnie Shoquist of Siren, WI, Alberta Ogden and Clarice Beschta of Oshkosh and Donna Hobson of Apple Valley, CA. He is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Sandy Lawler and Holly Brown, two sisters, Gleny Connors and Arlo Farror.Pa, Thanks for being there when we needed you and even when we didnt. Love Ya, The KidsThe family would like to thank Dr. Weber, Dr. Ringwala, Dr. Klinkhammer, Hospice and all of the nurses in the Sub-Acute Unit at Mercy Medical for their care of Darwin while he was at the hospital.A time of gathering is scheduled for Darwin on Thursday, July 7, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home-Westside. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.
