David Harlow Swenson

October 20, 1943 — August 16, 2012

David H. Swenson, 68, of Oshkosh, died on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Aurora Medical Center. He was born on October 20, 1943 in Wausau the son of Millard and Dorothy Madsen Swenson. David married Linda DuVall on October 3, 1970 in Oshkosh. He was a member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. David graduated from U. W. Madison and then received his Masters Degree from U. W. Milwaukee. He was a social worker at Winnebago and Mendota State Hospitals, and then worked at Theda Clark Medical Center before working for the Postal Service. He had enjoyed down hill skiing and swimming and was an avid reader. David was a Viet Nam era Air Force Veteran and then an Army National Guard veteran participating in Desert Storm. Survivors include his wife, Linda of Oshkosh; brother, Steve Swenson of Menasha; brother-in law, Steve (Kathy) DuVall of Oshkosh; sisters-in-law, Sue (Randy) Blank of Macon, GA; Diane (Dennis) Bohnert of Oshkosh; nephews, Zachary Swenson, Edie DuVall, Ryan and Peter Blank; nieces, Dr. Michele (Mitch) Henson, Leah, Daniele, Adriane, and Olivia Bohnert.Dave was preceded in death by his parents.The funeral service will be on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at 4:00 pm at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) with the Rev. Nathan Ericson officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Tuesday from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park.
