David Scott Zimmerman

March 16, 1948 — December 8, 2011

David S. Zimmerman, age 63 of Oshkosh, died at Aurora Medical Center on Thursday December 8, 2011. David was born in Pickett, WI on March 16, 1948, a son of the late Earl and Doris Brigham Zimmerman. He married Sharon Kropp on September 30, 1967, in Ripon.David served his country during the Viet Nam Conflict and was awarded the Purple Heart. He retired from the Winnebago County Highway Department, and drove bus for Kobussen Buses Ltd. He was a member of the Cook-Fuller Post of the American Legion and the Viet Nam Veterans of America. He was a member of the Harley Owners Group -Fond du Lac Chapter, the Pickett Steam Engine Club and the Lighthouse Beacons Camper Club.Survivors include his wife Sharon Zimmerman of Oshkosh; several nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Doris, an infant brother, Wayne Zimmerman and a sister, Diane Luebke.Funeral services will be held on Wednesday December 14, 2011 at 7:00 PM in the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to the time of service. Interment with Military Honors will be at Liberty Prairie Cemetery in Pickett. A memorial is being established.
