Denese S. Otto

July 23, 1934 — February 16, 2022

Denese S. Otto, age 87 of Oshkosh, had her prayers answered and went to be with the Lord on February 16, 2022. She was the only child born to the late Herman and Florence Strehlow on July 23, 1934. Denese grew up in the family home on Otter St. and was a life-long member of Trinity Lutheran Church and School where she was baptized. She was married to Frederick Otto on September 28, 1957 by her uncle, Pastor John Krueger.

Upon graduation from Oshkosh High School, Denese went to work as a bookkeeper at US Motors initially and soon after at the Deltox Rug company where she met her husband Fred. Denese kept the books at The Deltox for nearly 30 years until their closure in 1983, finishing out her working career at Carlson Travel and Pingry Caswell.

Denese truly enjoyed her bookkeeping career and was proud of the fact that she was able to keep the financial records of seven companies simultaneously as ownership of the Deltox diversified. She used those talents also in service to her Lord as the first woman treasurer for Trinity Lutheran.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years Frederick/Fred Otto, her only son Frederick/Freddy, and grandchildren Melynda (Cody Lee), Frederick/Erich, and chosen family members Stephanie (Christian Noggle) and Maggie Castello.

Private services were held at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes by the Rev. James Pemberton. The burial took place at Omro Cemetery.

The family of Denese will be ever grateful for the compassionate care she was given by the staff at Evergreen Retirement Living. Their care and understanding was much appreciated as she transitioned between assisted living and the nursing home.

Memorials may be sent to the Family of Denese S. Otto c/o Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes PO Box 78 Oshkosh, WI 54903-0078. Donations will be made in remembrance of Denese to Trinity Lutheran Church and School.
