Dennis Timothy Crowe

August 7, 1921 — October 10, 2008

Dennis T. Crowe Sr., 87 of Oshkosh, died Friday October 10, 2008 at Bethel Home. He was born in Antigo, WI on August 7, 1921 son of Timothy J. and Matie Jasperson Crowe. Dennis married his high school sweetheart, Anna Mae Persen in Kansas City, MO on December 12, 1942. Their marriage of nearly 66 years was something very special.Dennis retired from the Oshkosh Corp. (formerly Oshkosh Truck Corp.) as chief engineer in 1986. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 40 years, in which time he held many offices, including that of president. Dennis proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a Radio Specialist and was stationed in the South Pacific during World War II. He also belonged to the American Radio Relay League; the Society of Automotive Engineers, and H.A.M. Radio Association. Dennis is survived by his wife, Anna Mae Crowe of Oshkosh; three sons, Dr. Dennis T. (Deb) Crowe Jr. of Bogart, GA, Michael P. (Sue) Crowe of Oshkosh, and Kelly J. (Debi) Crowe of Oshkosh; eight grandchildren, Michael (Stephanie) Crowe, Kristin (Eric) Johnson, Matthew (fiance Joy) Crowe, Nathan (Meghann) Crowe, Jenny (Derek) Peppler, Brian (Sarah) Crowe, Jacob (Fallon) Crowe, and Megan Crowe; one sister, Dorothy Dobyns of Antigo, WI; ten great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Edmond Crowe and a sister, Marie McNeil.His funeral will be Wednesday October 15, 2008 at 2:00 PM at the Bethel Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Lidtke officiating and Rev. Walter Moll providing a eulogy. Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Family and friends may call at the chapel on Wednesday from 1:00 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Denniss name for the Bethel Foundation.Denniss family wishes to thank Dr. Matthew Fischer, Aurora Medical Center ICU, Hospice, and the staff of Bethel Home for the kind and professional care and support they provided to Dennis and his family.
