Diane M Below, 83, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 8, 2012 after a few months stay at Bethel Home. Diane was born in Oshkosh on July 16, 1928 to Carl and Lolita (Lee) Schmuhl Stevens. She married Bob Below in Oshkosh on September 18, 1954. Diane had attended Oshkosh High School. She was confirmed at First English Lutheran Church and was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. She was employed by the Oshkosh National Bank (now Chase Bank), the Red Cross office and the Campfire Girls office. She gave many years of volunteer service to the Friends of the Library, Campfire Girls and the AFS foreign students exchange program of which she had been President. Diane also taught Sunday School for many years at Peace Lutheran Church and volunteered her time in the church office. She and her husband Bob were avid Wisconsin Badger Football fans, and were very proud to have held Wisconsin football tickets for over 50 years. Her survivors include one daughter, Susan (Dan) Tentcher and grandchildren Joshua and Mackenzie all of Winneconne; plus many special relatives and friends. Also surviving are an AFS daughter, Mimi Haugen Coward and her family in Norway; and an AFS daughter, Sn Trinh (Leinweber) and her family in Madison, Wisconsin. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. Dianes greatest joy was her family and her grandchildren, Josh and Mac. A celebration of Dianes life will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 6:30 p.m. at Peace Lutheran Church (240 W 9th Ave) with the Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 5:30 p.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established. The family would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Eric Duwell for his kind and loving care! Appreciation and thanks also to the wonderful, patient, caring staff at Bethel Home! Giving thanks for you; remembering you in our prayers. (Ephesians 1:16)We love you.
