Dolores Anna Esler

God saw she was getting tired and a cure was not to be so he put his arms around her and whispered come with meDolores, age 95, peacefully went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on March 17, 2011 with her loving family at her side. She was born March 7, 1916, the daughter of Frank and Ella Lefky in Hilbert, WI. Dolores was the younger of two surviving daughters having tragically lost a sister in infancy and her beloved mother to illness in 1929. Raised and schooled in Greenleaf, WI she later met and married Donald John Esler in Kaukauna, WI on August 21, 1948. They spent 57 wonderful years together until his passing in 2005. Dolores was a devoted mother and wife, but most of all she was an angel sent by her Lord to care for and love those fortunate enough to have met her. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters and husband. She is survived by her children, Susan (Neil) Verwey, Oshkosh; Fred (Vicki) Esler, Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Andrew Verwey, Oshkosh and Kyle Verwey, Appleton; Thor Preston-Esler and Liv Preston-Esler, Fond du Lac.A mass of Christian burial will be on Monday March 21, 2011, 11:00 am at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish -St. Josaphat Church, 1333 Walnut St, Oshkosh WI with Father Bill Van DeKreeke officiating. A short visitation just prior to the service will be at 10:00 AM. In lieu of cards or flowers a memorial contribution in Dolores Eslers name will be forwarded to the Oshkosh Area Humane Society to honor her lifelong love of animals.The family of Dolores would like to give a special thank you to the Aurora Hospice staff for all their excellent care and kindness during this difficult time.
