d. April 7, 2014

Dolores S. Vogt, age 92, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born on March 12, 1922 to the late John and Dorothy (Gass) Rutkowski. During World War II she worked in Oshkoshs defense plant assembling precision parts for military equipment. At the end of the war she married Niel H. Vogt on June 22, 1946 at St. Peters Catholic Church in Oshkosh. Dolores was a life-long member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Together, Dolores and Niel farmed the "Sitter Place" west of Oshkosh before buying their own farmette on Jackson Drive, where they raised and sold chickens and eggs. In addition to helping run the poultry business, Dolores was a fulltime homemaker, and began working at the Paragon/Lennox Candle Factory in 1965. At Paragon/Lennox she was one of the craftswomen who created their art candles. Eventually, they sold the farmette and bought what became their retirement home on 25th Street in Oshkosh, where Dolores expanded her love of crafting and each year turned out a beautifully landscaped lawn and flower gardens. Dolores and Niel also enjoyed traveling together, taking long distance auto tours of the country each summer. She continued to work at the candle factory until her retirement in 1984.She is survived by 3 nephews Daryl (Mary) Warnke of Kaukauna, Richard (Gail) Warnke of Peshtigo, Steven (Laura) Warnke of Howards Grove, and 1 niece, Shirlee (Fred) Evans of Neenah. She is also survived by 3 grand-nieces, Michelle Evans, Kellie (Adam) Hale, Hollie (Tony) Kraft, 2 grand-nephews Mike (Tasha) Evans, Zachary Warnke and 2 great-grand nieces, Bella (Evans) Rougeux and Lorelei Hale.
