Donald H Kleman

Donald H. Kleman 86, of Oshkosh died at his home on Wednesday July 9, 2008 after a battle with cancer. He was born in Oshkosh on November 11, 1921 a son of the late William and Clara Riemer Kleman. Through a blind date Don met Elsie Brasch and five months later on May 24, 1947 they were married in Oshkosh.Don was a lifelong member of Peace Lutheran Church and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He had been employed with the Deltox Rug Company until it closed and then for the Lennox Candle Company until his retirement. Don was an outdoorsman; he enjoyed hunting deer, pheasants, ducks, goose, partridge squirrels and rabbits. He also enjoyed bowling, being a member of the senior Wednesday and Friday leagues at Shoreview Lanes. During the year of the bicentennial his team was called the Brothers of the Brush and all grew what they could for a beard. They won the city championship that year. Don also golfed at Far Vue Golf Course on the Monday senior league.Survivors include his wife, Elsie Kleman, Oshkosh; two daughters, Carol Noegel of Starke, FL; Darlene (William) Zellner, of Oshkosh; and one grand daughter, Ashley Noegel of Starke, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents one brother, Carl Kleman; three sisters, Gertrude Coffey, Helen Meder, Lillian Hom; and a son-in-law Larry Noegel.Funeral services will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Saturday July 12, 2008 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Tim Greenwald officiating followed by military honors. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM to the time of service. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial has been established.Special thanks to the Affinity Hospice for their wonderful care given to Don and the support for his family, and to Peace Lutheran Church.
