Donald L Rand

Donald L. Rand, age 87, of Oshkosh, died on Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born on March 15, 1923 in the Township of Grant in Shawano County, the son of Myron and Emilie Kamradt Rand. He grew up in the Bear Creek, WI area and graduated from Clintonville High School. On June 12, 1943 he was married to Ora Olesen and enjoyed 67 years of marriage. After retiring in 1987 the couple moved to Oshkosh, where they lived until his death. He held his family in high esteem and they knew he was always there for them. He was the family cheerleader.He is survived by his wife Ora; daughters, Karen (Dwain) Etheridge of Belleville, IL, Sue (Mike) Crow of Oshkosh; son, Steven (Vickie) Rand of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Sherri (Mark) Taylor of Shiloh, IL, Patrick Etheridge of O' Fallon, IL, Matthew (Joy) Crowe of Oshkosh, Nathan (Meghann) Crowe of Rothschild, WI, Emilie (special friend, Alex Penzenstadler) Rand of Oshkosh, and Eric Rand of Oshkosh. Also surviving are six great grandchildren, Christian and Zachary Taylor, Logan Crowe, Isabelle Wolf, Jack and Lila Crowe.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Allen, killed in World War II and a sister, Jean Mclaran.Honoring Donald's wishes, he will be cremated and there will be a private family service.
