Donald Richard Leonard

Donald R. Leonard, 79 of Oshkosh, died at Park View Health Center on Saturday evening, October 7, 2006, following a lengthy illness with Parkinsons disease. He was born in Oshkosh on November 12, 1926, a son of James and Emily Harwood Leonard. Donald married Jean Stahle on June 3, 1950 in Oshkosh.Don proudly served his country in the navy during WWII. He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. Don retired from the Hoffmaster Company after a 35 year career. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, was an avid deer hunter, spent many hours fishing, trap shooting at the Oshkosh Gun Club, where he was a member, and carpentry. He was a member of Whitetails Unlimited, and Ducks Unlimited.Survivors include his wife, Jean of Oshkosh; one son, Dean Leonard, of Oshkosh; two grandchildren, Halle and Colin Leonard, and their mother Stacey Leonard, of Oshkosh; one sister, Betty (William) Gibson, of Oshkosh; two brothers-in-law, Leroy (Patsy) Stahle, of Ripon; Douglas (Vikki) Stahle, of Houston, TX; two sisters-in-law, Elsie Sphatt, and Ruth Wolf, both of Oshkosh.Funeral services for Don will be held at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home- Westside on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at 7:00 PM with Rev. Chuck Flugel officiating. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4:00 PM to the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.A special thank you to Dr. Steven Knaus, and the caring, compassionate staff at Park View Health Center.
