Donald Wojahn

Donald K. Wojahn, 94, of Oshkosh died Tuesday March 15, 2011 at Grancare Nursing & Rehab Center in Fond du Lac. He was born on March 1, 1917 in Oshkosh a son of the late Henry and Mary (Pierner) Wojahn. Don married Marion Nygard in rural North Dakota on August 18, 1939. They spent their married life in Oshkosh where they raised their four children. After serving in the Army, Don returned to Oshkosh and worked in manufacturing facilities until he and his brother Carl established W & W Electric Motor Sales & Service. He also partnered with Richard Robertson and later continued on his own with his wife, Marion, and son David at his side. After retiring from this successful business, he became an active volunteer. He drove for Meals on Wheels and did taxes at the Senior Center among other efforts. He was also a member of Kiwanis. He is survived by his sister Marguerite, Acton, MA; a brother Carl (Marilyn), Waupun, WI; four children, Virginia (Ben) Reehl, Mayville, WI, Phyllis (Richard) Reid, Port Charlotte, FL, Kathryn (Brian) Derry, Missoula, MT, and David Wojahn, Oshkosh; six grandchildren, Eric, Rebecca, Kristen, Joel, Aaron, and Spencer; twelve great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marion in 2006; his parents; and four brothers and six sisters, William, Ella, Elsie, Minnie, Louise, Henry, Esther, Marie, Ewald, and Arthur. Visitation will take place at Konrad-Behlman Funeral Homes-Westside on Monday March 21, 2011 from 12:00 p.m.-noon until the service which will begin at 1:30 p.m., Rev. Jeffrey Duquaine officiating. Entombment will be at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to St. Agnes Hospice Hope of Fond du Lac or Grace Ev. Lutheran Church of Oshkosh.
