Dorothy Esther Gerdener

March 14, 1910 — April 17, 2008

Dorothy E. Gerdener, 98, of Oshkosh, died on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Bethel Home. She was born on March 14, 1910 in Oshkosh the daughter of Emil and Amelia Kautz Suelflow. On November 26, 1942 she married Gerhard W. Gerdener in Oshkosh. He preceded Dorothy in death on October 20, 1998.Dorothy was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and was a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a past leader of the Campfire Girls and enjoyed playing bridge.Survivors include her son, John Gerdener of Fridley, MN; her daughter, Gail (David) Thiel of Green Bay; two grandchildren and a great-granddaughter, Jennifer Thiel of Green Bay and Rachel (Rob) Brugman, and their daughter Kate of Milwaukee; a sister-in-law Joyce Suelflow; and several nieces and nephews. Along with her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, John, Clarence and Norman.Funeral services for Dorothy will be held on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Trinity Ev. Lutheran Church (370 Bowen Street) with Rev. Marvin Ahlborn officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. to the service time. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery. A memorial has been established. Dorothys family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Home for all their care. Dorothy was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be missed dearly.
