Dorothy Lorraine Jischke

Dorothy Lorraine Jischke, 88, of Oshkosh died on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at Bethel Home. Dorothy was born in Scandinavia, WI on July 7, 1920 the daughter of Olaf and Agnes Forseth. On November 21, 1940 she married Elmer Jischke in Oshkosh.Dorothy was a member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved to sing in the choir. She worked at Sears for 38 years. She enjoyed dancing and boating but foremost loved being with her family. She worked for ten years as a member of the Board for Work Adjustment. Dorothy was a diligent advocate for the disabled, reaching out to her daughter and all handicapped to ensure their dignity and rights.She was survived by her beloved grandson, Jake Jischke and his mother, Mary Arts; sister-in-law, Ruby Kulk of Milwaukee; brother-in-law, Ken (Lou) Jischke of Florida; nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death are her husband of 52 years, Elmer in 1992; children, Susan in 2003, James in 2004 and brother, Belford in 1969.A memorial service will be in Lake View Memorial Park Chapel on Monday, November 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Ted Johanson officiating. Family and friends may visit at the chapel on Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established.I want to thank Andy Jischke, my niece and Jerry Forseth, my nephew for coming to visit with me, my mailman, Chris for bringing my mail in and Ed and Albert for bringing it in when Chris was off, Chris Webster who took care of me, she cooked, cleaned and became a personal friend and my nurse. Karen Beerster was like my daughter. They are all special to me.
