Douglas Fred Gafner

Douglas F. Papa Gafner Sr., 64, of Oshkosh died unexpectedly on Saturday, November 17, 2007. Doug was born on August 12, 1943 in Oshkosh the son of Jacob and Dorothy Carpenter Gafner. Doug truly enjoyed helping people both at work and through friendships and was always counted on for wise advice. He was an insurance agent for many years. Papas greatest love and joy was his family and time spent with his family was his treasure. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shirley of Oshkosh; son Douglas (Rebecca) Gafner II of Santa Clarita, CA; two daughters, Elizabeth (Darrell) Geffers and Julie Gafner both of Oshkosh; five grandchildren, Lindsay, Nick, and Rachel Geffers all of Oshkosh, Douglas III and Jessica Gafner both of Santa Clarita, CA; three brothers, Ronald Gafner of Beaver Dam, Jon Gafner and Dean (Rose) Gafner both of Oshkosh and one sister, Joan Parada of Oshkosh. Doug was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.The funeral service will be on Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at the Konrad-Behlman Funeral Home (Westside) at 5:00 PM with the Rev. David Gaskill officiating. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Wednesday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Burial will be in the Rushford Cemetery.In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established.
